About LT Metal

We engineer essential materials for tomorrow.

Why 'essential' — where the LT Metal identity begins

Some materials cannot be done without.

A smartphone screen lights up. A semiconductor processes a signal. An electric vehicle moves. A medical device protects a life. At the center of every one of those moments is a precious metal — invisible, and indispensable.

Gold does not oxidize, so it protects the signal paths of a semiconductor reliably. Silver conducts electricity exceptionally well, so it carries power efficiently. Platinum stays stable under extreme temperatures and aggressive chemistry, which makes it irreplaceable in catalysts and medical devices. LT Metal shapes these intrinsic properties into the form each customer’s process and product requires, and has built the core materials that make industrial progress possible. For LT Metal, ‘essential’ means more than important. It means a material that makes a future industry possible and strengthens a customer’s competitiveness. That is what we mean by ‘essential materials for tomorrow’.

What 'engineering' adds — how an essential material is made

Essential materials are the result of precise research and engineering.

Precious metals are essential, and that much is true. But not all gold can serve as semiconductor bonding wire, and not all silver can deliver the performance of an OLED reflective layer. Purity grade, crystal structure, alloy composition, coating thickness. A material becomes competitive only when each of them is optimized to the customer’s process conditions and required performance. That work of tailoring is what we call engineering.

LT Metal takes precious metals and engineers them into the exact form a customer’s industry needs. High-performance materials are never made by chance.

We understand your requirements and process conditions in depth, and a truly differentiated material is complete only when the composition and structure of the precious metal are engineered with precision.

Three engineering capabilities — how an essential material comes together

How LT Metal engineers materials

We engineer composition.

Even within a single metal such as gold, conductivity, wear resistance, and heat resistance change dramatically with purity and alloying elements. LT Metal analyzes the customer’s operating environment — current capacity, temperature conditions, switching frequency, environmental regulations — and develops the alloy composition that delivers the required performance most effectively.

We engineer structure.

Composition alone does not determine an essential material. Particle size distribution, sintered density, and the crystal structure of a thin film bear directly on uniformity and reliability. Drawing on our in-house powder synthesis technology for functional materials such as ITO targets, we control and optimize material structure precisely from the very first step.

We engineer reliability.

The essential material a customer needs cannot ‘probably work’. It has to work. Through our R&D infrastructure, reliability evaluation equipment, KOLAS-accredited testing capability, and ISO9001- and IATF16949-based quality system, we verify material performance and quality objectively.

'We engineer essential materials for tomorrow' is LT Metal's promise to build our customers' future competitiveness with them.

Fifty years in. Fifty to go.

A journey in materials technology, preparing for the future

The essential materials of the past 50 years

LT Metal’s history is a record of developing and supplying new materials as industry changed. Bringing gold bonding wire production to Korea, developing the ITO target in-house, building a full lineup of contact materials for power applications — through the materials technology each era called for, we have grown together with our customers and their industries.

The next 50 years — a new generation of essential materials

3D stacking for AI semiconductors. Green hydrogen water electrolysis. Next-generation OLED. High-voltage systems for electric vehicles. The new materials technologies that coming industries will demand are being researched and developed in LT Metal’s laboratories at this very moment. ‘We engineer essential materials for tomorrow’ is not a sentence about past achievements. It is LT Metal’s promise to prepare the materials future industries will need before anyone else, and to create new possibilities together with our customers.
