Market trends

ESG regulation is rewriting the standard for material sourcing

Global ESG regulation — the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) — is changing how manufacturers source materials. Where and how a material was made is now a competitive factor in its own right. For precious metals in particular, responsible sourcing has become a central criterion in supply chain assessment.

At the same time, precious metal price volatility is a leading risk to manufacturing cost competitiveness. Closed-loop models that recover and refine materials after use are drawing attention as a sustainable way to secure supply chain stability and resource efficiency at once.

The value of a precious metal does not end when it is used.
LT Metal completes the cycle through recovery, refining, and resupply.

Closed-loop solutions

LT Metal's precious metal circulation model

LT Metal provides a closed-loop solution spanning the full cycle of precious metal materials: supply → use → recovery → refining → resupply.

Stage What we do Customer value
Spent material collection Collection of contact scrap, spent plating solutions, spent catalyst, and rejected product Lower waste disposal costs and an ESG record
Composition analysis and assay Precise measurement of precious metal content by instrumental analysis (XRF, ICP) and gravimetric chemical analysis Transparent valuation of recovered metal
Dry pretreatment Base metals removed, precious metals concentrated High recovery rates assured
Wet refining High purity through solvent extraction and electrolytic refining Purity fit for reuse
Certified analysis UL certification registration Quality assurance and evidence for ESG reporting
Re-manufacturing and resupply Refined precious metals remade into materials to customer specification Cost competitiveness and supply stability together

Services

Precious metal recovery and refining services

LT Metal collects precious-metal-bearing spent materials from industries including electronics and electrical, display, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals, recovers and refines them to high purity, and returns them to use as raw material. Proven analytical techniques and refining processes allow recovery across the full range of Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Rh, and Ru. In this closed-loop model, the precious metal materials LT Metal supplied come back to us. Customers cut raw material costs, reduce the burden of waste disposal, and contribute to their ESG targets at the same time.

What customers gain

💰 Lower cost

Recovered precious metals are credited against new raw material purchases, cutting real material cost.

♻️ Less waste

Proper treatment of precious-metal-bearing spent materials reduces both disposal costs and environmental burden.

📋 ESG readiness

Resource circularity data can be used in ESG reports and in responses to supply chain due diligence.

From the birth of a material to its return

LT Metal takes responsibility for the resource cycle.

Environmental management policy

LT Metal minimizes environmental pollutants across the full product cycle — development, production, and disposal — and complies rigorously with environmental law. We work continuously to cut energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, and we hold environmental responsibility as a core value of our management. To maximize the circular value of precious metals, LT Metal has built a recovery, refining, and reuse system that delivers resource efficiency and environmental responsibility at once.

Precious metal resource circularity (closed loop)

Precious metal materials supplied by LT Metal are used in customer production, then collected as scrap, spent solutions, or spent catalyst and passed through LT Metal’s recovery and refining processes to be reborn as raw material. This closed-loop model minimizes the waste of precious metal feedstock and reduces dependence on mining, lowering environmental burden in real terms.

Why circularity matters

Mining one kilogram of gold takes tens of tons of ore and consumes energy and water on a large scale. Recovering precious metals from spent materials yields the same quantity of feedstock with far less energy. LT Metal’s Precious metal recovery inquiry business is not simply a service; it is ESG in practice, raising the circular value of resources and strengthening the sustainability of the global supply chain.

Precious metals recovered

We hold recovery and refining capability across all six precious metals: Au (gold), Ag (silver), Pt (platinum), Pd (palladium), Rh (rhodium), and Ru (ruthenium). We recover them from electrical and electronic scrap, spent display targets, solar and fuel cell materials, petrochemical spent catalyst, pharmaceutical process residues, and other spent materials, and regenerate them as high-purity raw material.

ESG disclosure support

When a company prepares its sustainability (ESG) report, its use of recovered precious metal materials from LT Metal can support the management and reporting of responsible sourcing indicators. LT Metal provides transaction records, recovery data, and certificates of composition in structured form to support customer ESG reporting and disclosure.

UL certification for Au and Ag gives our recycled materials internationally recognized credibility

Why LT Metal

Three engineering capabilities

Global customers choose LT Metal because our engineering capability in composition, structure, and reliability delivers the performance and quality they specify. That is our core strength.

We engineer composition.

We combine wet, dry, and electrolytic refining to optimize the purity and quality of recovered material. Refining technology that handles a wide range of spent material forms lets us respond flexibly to small-lot, high-mix work.

We engineer structure.

We analyze the waste generated by your process — material type, content, and form — and define the optimal recovery and refining route. We also return the recovered precious metal as material remade to your quality standard, closing the loop.

We engineer reliability.

We operate a quality management system that verifies the purity and composition of recovered precious metals transparently. We also provide transaction records, recovery data, and certificates of composition in structured form for use in ESG reporting and disclosure.
