Chemical substance management

LT Metal operates a prevention-led management system to head off environmental and safety risks from chemicals before they arise and to achieve zero chemical accidents across all sites. Systematic procedures cover the introduction of new chemicals and their handling, storage, use, and disposal, and regular inspections and training continue to raise the standard of safety management. Alongside legal compliance, we aim to strengthen practical risk prevention and build safe, sustainable workplaces.

Chemical management system

Safe, transparent chemical management is a top priority at every LT Metal site. Our management system covers procurement, storage, use, and disposal and is linked to emergency response procedures, with each stage operated in line with the Chemical Substances Control Act and other applicable law.To prevent environmental and safety risks in the handling, storage, and transport of hazardous chemicals on site, we have established a management procedures covering the entire chemical lifecycle, from pre-review and storage to use and disposal. We also set personal protective equipment requirements and inspection intervals appropriate to each process to protect worker safety.

Stage Scope Owner Inspection frequency
1. Pre-review EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) review and regulatory check before a new chemical is introduced Environmental Safety Team / process department As required / periodic inspection
2. Storage management • Inspection of storage area safety, ventilation, and leak containment devices Process department Periodic inspection
3. Use and handling PPE worn by handlers, logging of quantities handled, monitoring for abnormal reactions Work team / safety manager Periodic inspection and continuous monitoring
4. Disposal and follow-up Adequacy of waste treatment, review of discharge records, follow-up monitoring Environmental Safety Team Periodic review and corrective action

Pre-assessment and inspection

Before a new chemical is introduced, LT Metal runs an EHS pre-assessment covering hazard, reactivity, and environmental impact. We hold a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for every chemical and use it as the basis for safety management. Major handling facilities are equipped with monitoring systems including leak detectors and CCTV, and regular inspections identify abnormalities so that corrective action can be taken immediately.

Category Inspection items
Storage facilities Leaks, ventilation system operation, storage temperature
Handling processes PPE worn, equipment leaks
Disposal processes Waste classification and storage adequacy, compliance with disposal procedures
Monitoring systems Detector operation, CCTV checks

Chemical safety training

LT Metal manages annual training plans and records for employees who handle and manage hazardous chemicals. Training is differentiated by role and combines statutory mandatory training with regular in-house training.

Program Participants Frequency Format
Chemical safety training Handlers Once every 2 years External specialist institution
Technical staff and managers Managers Once every 2 years External specialist institution
Employee training All employees Once a year In-house regular training
New hire training New hires As required In-house regular training
